This season the Holiday House has opened in a luxurious, new eight-bedroom limestone townhouse at 118 East 76th Street on one of New York’s most beautiful blocks. Founded by 21-year veteran breast cancer survivor Iris Dankner, Holiday House NYC donates all gala and ticket sales proceeds to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation® (BCRF), and has become one of the City’s leading interior design events.
Over 20 talented design firms transformed each room of the newly-built 32-foot-wide mansion, creating luxuriously appointed spaces and innovative designs loosely inspired by “holiday” themes, such as a “Getaway in Paris,” the “Crysthanamum Festival” and the “Modern Royal.” “We are delighted to be honoring our dear friends and colleagues Design Chairs Thom Filicia, Carson Kressley and Vicente Wolf and our inspiring Honorary Chair Tracy Anderson. We are incredibly grateful to Richard Steinberg and Douglas Elliman for providing our gifted designers with such a marvelous canvas on which to work for the 11th edition of Holiday House NYC. Together we are building awareness about and funds for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation,” says Ms. Dankner.
For the first time this year, Holiday House NYC will feature fully “shoppable” rooms. Everything – including furnishings, lighting, and accessories – from a living/dining room will be available for sale on One Kings Lane. The house’s library will be transformed into an on-site shopping experience with an array of 20th Century vintage furnishings, home décor and jewelry from Deluxe NYC. In celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month and women’s empowerment, Holiday House is delighted to launch a series of women-based/run initiatives and programs which include panel discussions and lectures, book signings, the debut of a new design podcast series, and a young designers’ event.
