Just a short drive from New York City, it’s time to discover the best of DC at The Dupont Circle Hotel. From museums to galleries and historical sites, there is plenty to do and now an even posher place to stay in the nation’s capital. This recently redesigned space offers modern comfortability surrounded by history and some new surprises in store.
Part of The Doyle Collection, The Dupont Circle Hotel is located in the desirable Dupont Circle area, providing easy and quick access to all major attractions. Walk to the White House and other iconic sites in just 20 minutes. Earlier this year, The Dupont Circle Hotel undertook a major renovation before reopening in September. The result? A clean and modern space which perfectly merges with its historic façade. In order to make this memorable stay magic happen, Bernie Gallagher, the Chairman of the Doyle Collection, brought in some of the brightest talent to be a part of his designer dream team so that guests would be guaranteed sweet suite dreams.
The overall elevated experience, from the new lobby to redone penthouse suites, is mostly thanks to the innovative décor imagination of Irish designer Clodagh. Clodagh is a supporter of minimalistic but luxurious designs which she showcased most stylishly, all while encompassing her interpretation of Irish hospitality. The Clodagh studio brought the calming and solid elements of the Irish aesthetic to echo the Irish roots of this beloved hotel brand. Both the penthouse and lobby exhibit the designer’s aptitude for merging ancient and cutting-edge elements into her interior designs. The redesign also shares Mr. Gallagher’s vision, which can be seen with the heated terraces of the penthouse suite. In addition to Clodagh, Mr. Gallagher also brought in Swedish architect Martin Brudnizki. Both designers are known to embrace the feeling of the 1940s, allowing them to authentically pay tribute to the building which was built in 1947. While Brudnizki focused on bold colors and textures in the dining spaces with his Nordic touch, Clodagh brought in details like live-edge wood and handwoven rugs which can be seen in the posh penthouse suites and luxe new lobby.
For an equally delectable dining experience, Martin Brudnizki worked on both the Doyle, a club-like bar with rich hues, and Pembroke, a posh space with palatable plates. Brudnizki is a veteran in transforming hospitality spaces including hotels, restaurants, bars, clubs and more. He redesigned these two spots with differing yet complimentary approaches by bringing in his Scandinavian aesthetics: bold colors and simple furniture with lots of big windows to show off the natural lighting. At Doyle, you can sip on specialty cocktails reminiscent of the 1950s and 1960s, as well as an extensive wine list, in a classic setting feature blue leather bar chairs and gold art deco chandeliers with panoramic views of Dupont Circle. From small plates to weekend brunch, you can enjoy the best of DC food and beverage culture without leaving the hotel. Featuring American fare with a global twist, you can savor breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between at Pembroke, which serves up fresh fish, handmade pastas, steaks and more. It’s time to dig into their new digs!
This haute hotel also offers a variety of spaces for private – and socially distanced events – for any occasion. With natural light and a gas fireplace, Foxhall makes for a cozy and memorable conference or intimate wedding, while the glamorous Glover Park is a throwback to the 1950s with leather blue booths and a private patio. For a more modern affair, Dupont Ballroom has both indoor and outdoor space plus state-of-the-art technology.
Relax right in one of their penthouse suites, which really show off the fruits and flair of their renovation labor. There are five types of A-list penthouse accommodations – Signature Terrace Suite, Luxury Terrace Suite, Parkview Suite, Studio Terrace Suite and Studio Suite One King Bed. All suites feature heated floors in the bathrooms and wide-open views overlooking the capital. The Signature Terrace Suite, Luxury Terrace Suite and Studio Terrace Suite also offer private terrace access. This upscale yet understated property offers the option to book one suite or the entire penthouse floor of 12 bedrooms with private elevator, ideal for intimate events or wedding parties – or just a super socially distanced stay.
The other guestrooms in the hotel were also redesigned with fine details including a new color palette and furnishings. In order to keep everyone safe, the air conditioning system of the hotel has been completely replaced, creating more optimal airflow into the rooms for cleaner and fresher air. They also offer a fitness center, room service, valet parking, Nespresso Coffee and Espresso machines in all guest rooms, HD LED TVs, Malin + Goetz bath amenities, duck down duvet and luxurious imported linens.
