If there’s one good thing that has come out of 2020, it’s River House at Odette’s, New Hope, Pennsylvania’s most stylish and scenic boutique hotel and event space. With a members-only rooftop, seductive piano bar and weekly entertainment, this might be the area’s most luxurious new spot, but it’s also laidback enough for you to feel relaxed and recharged.
This brand-new property, which just opened its doors at the end of September, is filled with detailed décor, from the dining room to the guestrooms. River House at Odette’s is an ode to Odette Myrtil, whose popular cabaret used to sit on this very spot. With a vaulted-ceiling lobby Piano Lounge, leather couches, velvet textiles and eclectic, industrial fixtures, the vision behind the hotel was to reflect Odette’s very own personality and French flair. The space is at once sensual and sleek yet comfortable and unpretentious. You will also find unique art installations through this very posh property. Aside from their 38 guestrooms and suites, River House at Odette’s also offers a rustic yet glamorous open-concept ballroom with vintage accents. If you’re looking to book an intimate wedding, you will want to say ‘I do’ in this airy and enchanting space with antiqued wall coverings featuring love letters from Chez Odette’s past. If you thought it couldn’t get any more romantic than that, there are also floor to ceiling glass doors that lead to a private veranda and breathtaking views!
While this jewel box like space has so much to offer, enjoying a Sunday morning coffee on my own private balcony overlooking the scenic towpath and Delaware River was all I needed to feel like I had escaped to a faraway fairytale oasis – and all in less than two hours from Manhattan! The property is also conveniently located in walking distance to the historic art galleries, famed antique stores and gourmet restaurants of the artsy, straddling neighborhoods of New Hope and Lambertville, New Jersey. As you walk over the bridge that separates Pennsylvania from New Jersey and take in the awe-inspiring river and mountain views, you will see why the area has continuously drawn painters from around the world. If you are feeling adventurous, they also offer bicycles free of charge so you can ride into town or on the path right behind the hotel.
With the highest standard of safety protocols currently in place, you can rest assured that you are safe while you sprawl out on your Frette sheets and fluffed white duvet which can be found in each and every room. The hotel’s modern rooms feature bold, colorful flowered murals, tufted leather headboards, green chairs and of course, stunning water or mountain views – or both! Step into serenity in your private, spa-like bathroom with deluge showerheads and eclectic tiles. You can also enjoy your own coffee bar. With cutting-edge designs mixed with classic prints and pops of color, River House at Odette’s is adding a new level of sophistication to their surroundings while remembering their historical roots. Get away for a romantic getaway and book a king room with elevated river view or treat your girlfriends to a fun surprise with the queen residential-style room, which sleeps up to four guests. If you really want to experience the opulence of Odette’s, the Bridge and Bow Suites bring on the glamour.
