After July 4th, the charity circuit kicks into high gear in the Hamptons. One of the highlights of the summer is the Parrish Art Museum Midsummer Party held in the Herzog & de Meuron designed building in Water Mill attended by a who’s who in the worlds of art, philanthropy, and entertainment. While patrons dined alfresco the younger set descended on the dance floor for the dessert after party with DJ Coleman, keeping the party til the wee hours.
James Beard Foundation’s Extravagant Chef’s & Champagne Celebrates 25th Anniversary.
Foodies, gourmands, and chefs united at The James Beard Foundation’s Annual Chefs & Champagne Event to honor pastry chef and author Carla Hall at the expansive Wolffer Estate in Sagaponack. Celebrating its landmark 25th anniversary, attendees were treated to a sumptuous tasting party with culinary savory and sweet delights from over 40 top chefs as well as free flowing Taittinger champagne and wines from Wolffer Estate Vineyard. Chefs and James Beard Award winners from trendy hotspots such as Brad Farmiere of Public and Saxon + Parole, Michael Ferraro of Delicatessen, George Mendes of Aldea & Lupolo, Sam Hazen from Blue Water Grill, and many others showcased their best dishes. For the VIP Experience, suited for epicureans with an appetite, the chefs’ after party served plenty of indulgent comfort fare with themes such as a Texas Tailgate, Pig and More Pig served 4 different ways, Brunch All Night with chicken and waffles, or a selection of smoked salmon as well as an extensive dessert selection, of course served with plenty of bubbly to wash it all down.
